The World That Apps Built

| As the world increasingly becomes smartphone-centric, apps are becoming more ingrained into our daily lives. At the end of 2011, there were more than 400 smartphone devices on the market in the United States, according to the 2011 comScore study, "2012 Mobile Future in Focus." And 64 percent of mobile phone time is spent on apps, according to the 2012 Nielsen study, "The Digital Revolution: A Look Through The Marketer's Lens." In just the last year, the average number of apps per smartphone has jumped 28 percent, from 32 apps to 41, according to NielsenWire. Read more>>

Fiserv Launches SpotPay Mobile Payment Solution
| Fiserv, Inc., a provider of financial services technology solutions, has unveiled SpotPay, a mobile card reader solution for financial institutions to offer to their small business customers that enables merchants to accept card and check payments anywhere, anytime. Using SpotPay, merchants will be able to swipe credit and debit cards with their mobile device to accept payments. And SpotPay offers merchants the ability to deposit checks using the mobile remote deposit capture feature from Fiserv that allows users to securely take a picture of the front and back of a check and deposit the item electronically.
