Green Leaf Award
The Green Leaf Award recognizes a community bank that demonstrates an outstanding achievement in helping the environment. The award includes both achievements in internal operations and facilities, and achievements related to customers and the community.
Among the specific achievements are:
- LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification for the primary location and/or branch locations.
- Eco-friendly operational policies (e.g., energy-saving systems and policies, green incentives for staff, recycling programs, etc.).
- Implementation of paperless technologies, including online/mobile banking, paperless statements, electronic payments, image exchange and remote deposit.
- Green lending programs with environmental incentives for consumers and/or small businesses.
- Green credit cards and similar green programs.
- Financial contributions to and/or active participation in environmentally oriented organizations.
Fees and Deadlines
There are no fees to enter the 2009 Western Banking Green Leaf. The deadline for entries has been extended to August 20, 2010.
