Kristin Rulon joined BankNews Media in January 2012 as assistant editor of contract publications. She oversees the design and production of the company’s contract publications, including California Banker, Illinois Banker, In Touch, Florida Banking and Maine Banker. She is also responsible for the updating the contract publications section of the company’s website and assisting, as needed, on promotional or marketing materials and provides editorial assistance, such as editing, proofreading, for the company's other publications.
Prior to joining BankNews Media, Kristin worked as the community editor for the Excelsior Springs Standard in Excelsior Springs, Mo. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism with a writing minor from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Mo. While attending Northwest, she worked for the award-winning community/university weekly newspaper, the Northwest Missourian, for two years.
In 2011, Kristin was awarded Best Feature Photograph and Honorable Mention for Best News Story in the Class 1 category for her submissions in the Missouri Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest.
