RATA Associates GeoPlus Geocoding Service

GeoPlus is RATA Associates’ geocoding solution for Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and Community Reinvestment Act reporting for community banks. The enhanced GeoPlus system that was put into production use in December 2009 after more than two years of development includes many technical improvements.

1. GeoPlus provides nationwide compliance-grade geocoding accuracy. RATA’s GeoPlus geocoding methodology and rigorous processes that use seven proprietary and commercially available address-matching engines and data sets, organized in a 13-step automated process, along with manual review and manual corrections to addresses with spelling and formatting errors that can not possibly be geocoded accurately without corrections yields near 100 percent accuracy on most address files submitted.

2. Scalable, cost-effective service-oriented model. Investing nearly $3.5 million in its Comply Suite compliance software upgrade during the last four years, all of RATA’s software, including the GeoPlus system, is now built on the latest Microsoft .NET and SQL Server technology platforms. By using this technology along with volume-based pricing, RATA offers flexible and scalable service geocoding solutions that are cost-effective for institutions of all sizes.

3. Quick, easy to use and convenient. Many RATA client institutions simply export the address data fields using their loan origination systems as a source and upload the data to the RATA support website for processing. RATA's geocoding staff does all of the geocoding work for the institution and returns the geocoded records back to the institution via the support site when the processing has been completed. Institutions then apply the geocoded data that RATA provides as an update to the system that originated the address export and the job is done.

4. Significant cost savings. With RATA’s outsourced GeoPlus service, institutions eliminate all costs associated with obtaining and maintaining an in-house system and hiring, training and maintaining an experienced staff to accurately geocode files.

5. RATA offers a $50,000 GeoPlus geocoding guaranty. Because GeoPlus meets or exceeds all regulatory requirements, RATA offers a "GeoPlus Guaranty" that institutions will not be fined for geocoding-related issues.
