Teach Children to Save Day Set for April 27

Jan 28 - The ABA Education Foundation is offering free online training and a chance to win one of four 1,000 donations to banks that participate in the 14th annual Teach Children to Save program. TCTS Registration.

“Bankers have been putting the Teach Children to Save program to work in their communities for years, so a $1,000 donation and free training is not only an incentive, but it’s also a thank you,” said Laura Fisher, director of the ABA Education Foundation, which sponsors the program.

$1,000 Donation
The foundation will award four ABA member bankers with a $1,000 donation for a local school or youth group. Banks in three asset groups -- less than $100M, $100M-$250M and over $250M -- that reach the most students between now and Nov. 1 will receive $1,000 donations for local schools or youth groups. Banks participating in Teach Children to Save for the first time will be entered into a drawing for a $1,000 donation. Banks must register to be eligible for the contest.

Free Webinar Training
The foundation will also host both new-and returning-participant Webinars. The online training sessions will cover steps for planning an event, tips on using the Teach Children to Save resource kit, and how to contact schools and other groups. Participation is free, but registration is required. View Webinar times and register.

“It’s a new year, with new ideas, but the same mission,” adds Fisher. “To build a generation of savers, one classroom at a time.”

Teach Children to Save is a national campaign that raises awareness about the role that banks and bankers play in helping young people develop lifelong savings habits.
