Sept 26 - ServisFirst Bank’s Correspondent Division is showing tremendous growth as it announces the addition of Senior Vice President Don Owens and Correspondent Banking Operations Specialist Jason Patrick. During the past six months, the correspondent division has expanded into Georgia and Tennessee, seeing its client list grow to service more than 90 banks throughout the southeast. With the addition of Owens and Patrick, ServisFirst Bank will expand its correspondent banking services, by adding lending capabilities and international services to its clients.
“Don and Jason are professionals I have worked with for many years and will provide key skills needed to take the correspondent division of ServisFirst Bank to the 'next level' in our goal of being the number one correspondent bank in the southeast,” said Rodney Rushing, executive vice president of ServisFirst Bank.
Owens has more than 30 years in the banking industry, along with an extensive background in real estate, correspondent and financial credits, as well as commercial and industrial lending. Owens joins ServisFirst Bank from BBVA Compass, where he was senior vice president and senior loan administrator. As senior vice president of the correspondent division, Owens will serve as the credit officer for correspondent banking, where he will approve and structure loans, as well as business development activities.
Owens graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Alabama. He is also a graduate of Southwestern Graduate School of Banking in Dallas, where he received his Graduate Banking Degree. He received is Intermediate Banking Degree from Alabama School of Banking in Mobile, Ala. He is actively involved in United Way and Boy Scouts of America. Owens has served on the board of The Better Business Bureau and as chairman of The Small Business Awards Banquet in Huntsville, Ala., as well as an active member for the local Chamber of Commerce.
Patrick has more than 18 years in the banking industry, with his most recently in the investment division at BBVA Compass. As correspondent banking operations specialist at ServisFirst Bank, his responsibilities will include providing international wire services, foreign currency exchange and selling foreign currencies to current bank customers, as well as providing these international services to ServisFirst Bank’s correspondent banking clients.
Patrick received his Bachelor’s Degree of Business Administration in Finance from Mississippi State University with Academic Minors in Accounting and Marketing. Also, a graduate of Birmingham School of Law, where he received his Juris Doctorate. Jason also served as an advisory board member for the Center for Financial Training. Jason is currently a member of Birmingham Botanical Gardens and enjoys projects with Habitat for Humanity.
