OCC: Karen Solomon to Serve as Acting Chief Counsel

Dec 27 - Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry has announced that Karen Solomon would begin a three-month term as acting Chief Counsel on Jan. 1 while the agency continues its search for a successor to Julie Williams.

When Williams stepped down as chief counsel on Sept. 30, 2012, Curry asked the agency’s two deputy chief counsels, Dan Stipano and Solomon, to take turns serving in an acting capacity until a successor to Williams could be named.

“I want to thank Dan for the exceptional job he did as acting chief counsel over these past three months,” Curry said. “I also want to thank Karen for agreeing to take on this job for the next calendar quarter. I know how demanding this job is, and I’m grateful to lead an agency that has such a strong pool of talented senior executives who can be tapped to serve in these positions when needed.”
