Nebraska Bankers Association Promotes Arrigo and Sundquist

July 3 - The Nebraska Bankers Association has announced the promotion of Ron Arrigo and Joni Sundquist to the position of senior vice president.

“As the NBA prepares for the retirement of several key long-term team members, I am pleased to promote Ron and Joni into expanded roles within our organization,” stated NBA Successor President & CEO Richard Baier. “They both bring a great deal of talent and experience into their new positions; their leadership and input will be essential in helping our association provide extraordinary service to our member financial institutions, with an eye to the growth and evolution of the financial services industry.”

Arrigo joined the NBA in 1987 after working six years for two Lincoln banks. He is a Lincoln, Neb., native and attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where he studied business administration. Arrigo will maintain responsibility for banker education services and will assume new duties that are primarily internal to the organization, including oversight of daily office administration and staff responsibilities.

His responsibilities will include coordination and direction of the highly recognized NBA Leadership Program. Arrigo also serves on the board of directors and as an advocate for Lincoln Citizen Advocacy, which was created to assist individuals with disabilities and protect and advocate for their rights.

Sundquist has been with the NBA since 1997. She grew up in Oakland, Neb., and has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Sundquist is a graduate of Leadership Lincoln (Class XIX) and the Nebraska Chamber’s Leadership Nebraska (Class 2). In addition to her marketing and communications responsibilities, she will assume new duties that are primarily external to the organization, including the coordination of activities relating to the NBA Board of Directors, the Nebraska Bankers Educational Foundation, and the University Foundation Allocation Committee; the implementation of an organizational social media strategy; and the enhanced promotion of the NBA’s effective government affairs activities. Sundquist currently serves on the board of directors for and is a
past president of the Nebraska Society of Association Executives (NSAE). She also serves on the board of directors and is treasurer for Lincoln/Lancaster County Crime Stoppers.
