Agents and Brokers Can Now Access Zurich’s Community Banking Solutions

May 14 - Zurich, a property and casualty insurer globally and in North America, is working with Zurich Agency Services Inc., to bring its community banks offering to a broader population of agents and brokers.

As part of this effort, Zurich worked with ZAS, formerly Universal Underwriters Insurance Services Inc., to develop an online portal that allows any insurance agent and broker to enter submissions for coverage. This channel is currently for community banks only and was created to provide a one-stop-shop for agents and brokers to address all of a community bank’s insurance needs in one place, including property-casualty, collateral protection, bond, directors and officers and other management liability products.

Additional product and service highlights include Zurich’s proprietary property policy that contains no vacancy or margin clauses, a separate Mortgagee Protection Policy to cover liabilities stemming from mortgage operations, and an easy-to-use online tool for banks to add and delete properties for real estate owned and lender-placed exposures.

“We wanted to make Zurich’s products and solutions that are tailored to the needs of larger banks and financial institutions available to the community banking industry,” said Christopher Taylor, head of financial institutions for Zurich North America Commercial. “This gives community banks the opportunity to do business with a global commercial insurer with over 100 years of experience of insuring financial institutions, and gives them the customer service and personal attention they need.”
