August 28 — Plansmith Corp., a provider of software and educational services to community banks and credit unions across the nation, has promoted executive vice president Susan West to president and chief operating officer of the corporation. Founder Craig Hartman will continue to perform as CEO and chairman.
West has spent 38 years in the financial services industry, most recently serving as executive vice president for Plansmith. Many bankers know Ms. West as the instructor who introduced them to the concept of continuous planning and asset/liability management.
Prior to joining the company in 1980, West collectively served as manager trainee and department head for accounting, tellers and personal bankers at Suburban National Bank of Palatine (now BMO Harris), a community bank in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
In her new role at Plansmith, West will oversee all daily operations and focus on the development and execution of key business strategies. West stated, "I feel honored as I take on my new role as president. My years at Plansmith have been filled with quality, sincerity, incentives and challenges, and I'm thrilled for what's yet to come. Our focus remains on the needs of our clients. As president, I will ensure that we continue to deliver high quality products and services that make a real difference and help bankers achieve their business goals."
"In her over 30 years at Plansmith, Sue has been a leader. She's committed to our mission and exudes personal care for each of our clients and staff," commented Hartman. "Her creativity, dedication and vast experience further guarantee the success of Plansmith. She is a huge asset to both the company and to me, and I couldn't be more pleased that she has accepted this new role."
