The Redmond Company LEED-Certified Building Design
The Redmond Company is a full-service consulting/design/build firm that specializes in finding innovative solutions and tailoring them to our financial client’s needs. The company worked closely with Midland States Bank board and executive management to plan and design the new headquarters facility that would house the bank’s administrative, operations and finance divisions. The Redmond Company helped the bank to become more efficient, expand their capabilities and ultimately help them be in a better position to serve their customers by providing the following services:
1. Strategic planning: The company team members conducted more than 34 interviews with the bank managers and staff to determine how the new strategic plan would affect their individual departments.
2. Programming: Adjacency work flow diagrams, and several floor plan options were created based on this program information.
3. Site Selection: After programming was confirmed and the size of the building determined, the company worked with the bank’s executives on site selection.
4. LEED Certification:
Providing an Energy Modeling system – The company provided Midland States with three scenarios of efficiency, each with a payback analysis. Midland States Bank chose to go with the highest efficiency and payback.
Sustainable Site – The site will feature only as much parking as required by the city to reduce the amount of pavement. There will be bike storage and preferred parking for carpool and low-emission vehicles. The building itself will have a white roofing membrane to cut down on the “heat island” effect as well as reduces cooling costs in the summer.
Water Efficiency – The building will feature low-flow plumbing fixtures throughout.
Materials & Resources – The building will be constructed using recycled content, regional materials, 50 percent Forest Stewardship Council-certified wood and some renewable materials.
Indoor Environmental Quality – The building was designed to maximize daylighting within the building to reduce the need for electric lighting and also to provide exterior views for every employee.
