May 1 – The Independent Bankers Association of Texas — the largest state community banking association in the nation — is hosting its 25th Annual Congressional Visit, May 2-4, in Washington, D.C. More than 115 Texas community bankers and industry advocates will travel to our nation’s capital to make their voices heard with key decision makers, including elected officials and regulators.
April 24 – Citi has released its 2016 Global Citizenship Report, highlighting efforts made in the last year to responsibly provide financial services that enable growth and progress. The report is divided in two sections – “How we do Business” and “Solutions for Impact.”
April 19 – Associated Bank is recognized for the fifth year for its mortgage servicing performance as part of an assessment and recognition program sponsored by Fannie Mae, the leading source of residential mortgage credit in the U.S. secondary market.
April 17 – MidWestOne Bank, serving Minnesota and Iowa, was honored at the third annual Financial Capability Innovation Awards presented by the nation’s leading technology innovator, EverFi, Inc. Presented at NASDAQ Marketsite in New York City, the award recognizes MidWestOne Bank’s significant efforts to improve the financial capability in the community through unique digital learning initiatives.
April 17 – Golden Valley Bank, headquartered in Chico, Calif., has announced that their president and CEO, Mark Francis, was awarded Community Banker of the Year by Western Independent Banker (WIB). WIB is a trade association that informs, educates and connects community banks to achieve the highest standards of personal and organizational performance. They represent 13 western states in the U.S.: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington, Wyoming and U.S. territories.
April 5 – Celent is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2017 Model Bank Awards. Celent Model Bank is awarded for best practices of technology usage in different areas critical to success in banking and is the main award that a financial institution (FI) can receive from Celent. The annual program is now in its 10th year.
March 28 – Chicago-based Signature Bank has a firmly established foothold in middle-market banking in Chicago and is now expanding to Milwaukee. The privately-held business bank founded in 2006 by three career commercial bankers recently hired Milwaukee native Michael G. Weber as Vice President of Commercial Lending. Mr. Weber will manage Signature Bank’s new loan production office located in downtown Milwaukee.
March 28 – Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. has announced that customers now have card-free access to all of its 13,000 ATMs, coast-to-coast. The company’s One-Time Access Code technology allows customers to authenticate at an ATM using an 8-digit token and their debit or ATM card Personal Identification Number (PIN), instead of a physical card.
